Students at South Adams Schools worked to feed starving children on Friday.
One hundred sixty three thousand of them.
Students throughout the district – kindergarten through 12th grade students alike – packed meals through the Feed My Starving Children initiative. The packaged meals will be distributed to citizens of Haiti by the charity.
The project was made possible through a “penny war” at South Adams Elementary and sponsored by local churches and community organizations, the district said.
