The town of St. Joe went under a boil water advisory Saturday, Aug. 11.
Police in DeKalb County believe a man had been drinking when he drove through a dead-end street and crashed into the pump house, prompting the advisory.
On Monday, NewsChannel 15 confirmed repairs are underway. Workers were out making repairs to the pump house.
“At this time the construction and the chemicals in place to use and provide water, that should be completed in two weeks,” said town board member Mary Simcox.
Residents are still being asked to boil their water until repairs are done and the water has been tested.
“It is an inconvenience, but at the same time you have to do what you have to do,” said Samantha Hewitt, the head waitress at Pit Stop restaurant.
St. Joe is holding an already schedule town board meeting at 7pm Monday. Residents are encouraged to attend and ask any question they may have about the advisory.
Questions or concerns can be directed to St. Joe Town Hall (260) 337-5449.
