Human remains were discovered in a field in rural LaGrange County, Indiana State Police announced Tuesday.
Early Sunday morning, the owner of a property near C.R. 950 East and 350 East came upon the skeletal remains of an unknown person, state police said. The remains were badly decomposed, authorities said.
The remains were recovered Monday by a forensic anthropologist team with the University of Indianapolis. DNA testing and an anthropological exam will be conducted to determine the manner of death and to determine the person’s identity.
No other information was released. It’s not clear if police suspect foul play in the person’s death.
