NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (WANE) – A missing North Manchester teen has been found dead just over a week after a Silver Alert was issued.
According to the Wabash County Sheriff, on Nov. 15, 18-year-old Wyatt Engle was reported missing by a family member when he didn’t report to school. A Silver Alert was issued the following day.
Family members, friends and deputies searched his travel route but were unable to find Engle or his vehicle.
On Wednesday just before 5 p.m., a jogger called the Wabash County Central Dispatch to report an overturned vehicle, partially submerged in the creek on C.R. 400 East between C.R. 900 N and C.R. 1000 N.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found Engle dead. The sheriff said that he was the only person inside the vehicle.
This remains under investigation.
