The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is the largest suicide prevention organization in US. Each year the foundation encourages people to walk 17 miles overnight to raise money and awareness.

Every year AFSP hosts two 16+ mile overnight walks in various cities across America. Mark Looney, of Fort Wayne, is participating in the national walk in San Francisco.

Mark is doing the walk to honor Michael S. Price, a local war hero who took his own life.

Michael is not alone. Twenty-two veterans a day make this life ending decision, and for that reason, Mark will walk again this year.

One of the ways Mark is bringing awareness is on March 16, at Applebee’s on Clinton, there will be an event called “Pancakes for Suicide Awareness”.

The cost is $8, half the proceeds cover the cost of food, the other half will be donated to support Mark in the walk.
