Several homes and businesses including the Kroger in West State Plaza were without power Tuesday morning after a semi knocked down power lines.
Around 6:20 a.m. first responders were called to 1100 West State Boulevard to the reports of a semi that had hit a utility pole. The driver told police he was able to back in and make his delivery, but when he pulled out, he heard a ‘boom’ and the lines came down. A garbage truck was also at the scene. It’s unclear if that vehicle was also involved. No injuries were reported.
Indiana Michigan Power’s website first reported 45 customers without power. I & M crews arrived on scene shortly before 7 a.m.
By 11 a.m., just three customers were still without power. I&M said power should be fully restored by 3 p.m.
