Fort Wayne educators are inviting the public to join a demonstration Wednesday morning to support of public schools.

The goal of the “walk-in” is to highlight the need for increased public education funding.

The “Fort Wayne Education Association” will host three demonstrations.
They all start at 6:55, at Lincoln, Arlington, and Saint Joe Elementary Schools.

Walk-in participants gather outside before the school day starts and walk into the school together to show support for the issue of increased education funding.

“Our educators are concerned with the current proposed state budget,” said FWEA President Julie Hyndman. “Based on the budget proposal, Fort Wayne Community Schools won’t see sufficient budget increases to address student needs and increase teacher pay. We’re hosting the walk-in to bring attention to these issues and encourage parents and community members and leaders to contact their legislators to ask for more education funding.”
