FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) An upcoming Resource Fair and Family Fun night aims to connect people with professionals serving children and families.

Kylie Riecken, Kim Hollabaugh and Lisa Blanchard joined First News Saturday to detail the community providers attending and opportunities for families.

April is child abuse prevention month. This is a opportunity to network with professionals serving children and families, put faces with names, and share information about their programs.

The exhibit area will be open for community providers, both contracted through DCS and serving the community directly. Over 50 area organizations serving families will be present. Food trucks will be on site.

The Resource Fair is 1-3 p.m on April 12. The Family Fun Night is 4-7 p.m. This evening portion of the event is focused on children and families and will include activities, giveaways, and free food. The Department of Child Services will kick off the evening with a child abuse prevention ceremony and pinwheel garden.
