Purdue Fort Wayne switching to paper straws

Local News

Out with the plastic and in with the paper. Purdue University Fort Wayne is officially making the switch to paper straws in its campus dining facilities.

Aramark, the company that supplies the university with fountain drinks, is finalizing its sourcing for the new paper straws and plans to have them available at all campus dining locations next week.

Sustainability is a high priority for our students, faculty, and staff and we are always looking to improve, David Wesse, Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, said. This is the next logical step, and we’re pleased that Aramark is such a willing partner and advocate.

Purdue University recently made the same switch.

Aramark sells an estimated 15,000 fountain drinks on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus each year.
