Fort Wayne’s Public Art Program has $110,000 to start creating more public art works throughout the city.

On Friday, the Chamber Foundation gave the initial donation at an event on The Landing. The Public Art Commission is tasked with putting art displays in city neighborhoods.

“We are grateful for the support of the Chamber Foundation,” said Pam Holocher, City Planning & Policy Director and Vice Chair of the Public ArtCommission. “Public Art brings beauty to our community and makes it a place people are proud to call home. It takes both public resources and private donations, like this gift from the Chamber Foundation, to help make public artaccessible to all our residents, in our neighborhoods and in downtown.”

The next step for the for commission is to assess which areas are the top priority to start public art projects. It will make collaborations with public and private entities.
