Internet Technology crews were contacted Wednesday evening to help bring the primary phone lines for the City of Kendallville’s Police and Fire Departments back online.
Kendallville Police Chief Rob Wiley told WANE 15 that the computer system that operates the network started malfunctioning Wednesday evening causing problems within the normal phone system.
“We’re putting out a notice to residents that the primary phone lines are not working but we do have an alternative number they can call for non-emergencies. That number is (260) 349-8572,” said Chief Wiley.
“Our 911 system is still operational because it’s being routed through the Noble County Sheriff’s Department. So all emergency calls can still be made to 911,” said Wiley.
Phone lines were restored Thursday morning around 3 a.m. Citizens can now call the non-emergency line at 260-347-0654.
