A Sunday morning power outage in Fort Wayne left nearly 1,600 people without power.

A majority of the outages happened in the downtown area, affecting some stoplights.

By 1 p.m., the number decreased to about 250, and only a small pocket of people continued to experience issues throughout the rest of the night, according to Indiana Michigan Power’s Outage Map.

It’s unclear what caused the outage. The I&M website only listed a “distribution line” as the cause. According to the map, I&M is still investigating the cause for some of the outages.

WANE 15 has left a message with I&M for an explanation, but has not heard back.

You can find an updated map of outages here.
