More than 3,000 customers were left without power midday Wednesday in New Haven after a squirrel caused the outage.

According to Indiana Michigan Power, 3,464 customers were without power in an area from the Maumee River south to Maples Road. Indiana Michigan Power spokesman Tracy Warner said a substation outage caused the outage and crews were responding.

Power was fully restored in the area about 3:30 p.m.
