Police search for Wolcottville bank robbery suspect

Indiana State Police, The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office and Wolcottville Police are searching for a bank robbery suspect.

They said a man robbed the Farmer’s State Bank off North Main Street just before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Investigators described the suspect as a white male with a moustache and beard. They said he was not wearing a shirt when he entered the bank but he was wearing a dark colored ball cap and carrying a dark colored backpack. They said he demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the suspect ran down a nearby alley. He was then seen driving away from the area in what appeared to be a silver or light blue Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.

Investigators are asking the public to contact the Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne at either (260) 432-8661 or (800) 552-0976 (Indiana only) with any information about the crime.

Officers from the Wolcottville Police Department, Rome City Police Department, LaGrange County Sheriff’ Department, Noble County Sheriff Department and the LaGrange Police Department assisted in the investigation.
