A Hudson man faces a felony auto theft charge after police said he stole a car – an hour after he was released from county jail.
Just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Noble County police were called to a home at 2568 E. S.R. 8 in Albion on a report that a vehicle had been stolen there. Two Noble County Sheriff’s Department deputies said that moments before, they’d seen a man in the driveway of the home.
Those same deputies spotted the stolen vehicle around C.R. 700 East and C.R. 200 North and pulled it over.
The suspect – 29-year-old Anthony P. Butchbaker – was the same man they saw in the driveway, police said, and he was arrested and charged with felony Auto Theft.
Police said in a news release that Butchmaker had just been released from the Noble County Jail at 1:53 p.m., after being booked just after midnight on an outstanding warrant for felony Theft.
