Police in Mercer County, Ohio, said they arrested a drunken man after a woman said he threatened her with a gun early Friday morning.

Rockford Police were called just before 5 a.m. to 218 W. Market St. in Rockford after a woman said her boyfriend was outside her door with a gun threatening her, according to a news release. Officers arrived and found a man who was “very agitated and uncooperative,” police said.

Officers tried to detain and identify the man, described as intoxicated in the released, but he refused to give his name. He was eventually detained and identified as 35-year-old Zachary H. Haney of Rockford.

Police found Haney had an outstanding warrant out of Mercer County.

Officers found a .25 caliber handgun and “drugs” on Haney when he was arrested, the release said. It’s not clear what kind of drugs or how much.

Haney was booked into the Mercer County Jail on the warrant.
