Police arrest husband and wife after narcotics raid

A Fort Wayne couple was arrested Wednesday night after police served a search warrant at their home.

Around 8:20 p.m., detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Gang and Violent Crimes Unit teamed up with the Emergency Services Team to execute the warrant at 2731 Kingsland Ct. 

Police got the warrant after they received complaints of drug dealing, gunshots, and exchange of gun fire from and into the home recently. 

During the search of the home, detectives found two handguns, five grams of cocaine, 150 grams of narcotics pills, and paraphernalia for selling, distributing, and consuming narcotics. 

As a result, residents of the home Octavius and Crystal Franklin were interviewed, arrested, and charged.

Octavius, 38, Fort Wayne, faces preliminary charges for possession of cocaine, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, and maintaining a common nuisance. 

Crystal, 34, Fort Wayne, is preliminarily charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a narcotic drug, and maintaining a common nuisance.
