Hundreds of people showed up at Freimann Square Sunday morning for Pink Yoga.

It’s a new event to kick off the annual Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic.

Participants were given a pink yoga mat and spent an hour with professional yoga instructors. The event also featured food, music, and a chance to win prizes.

NewsChannel 15’s Alyssa Ivanson was the event emcee.

The Vera Bradley Classic, which also features golf and tennis, annually raises money for breast cancer research. Last year, the Classic raised more than $1 million.

Wildwood Raquet Club will again host the tennis tournament. The Fort Wayne Country Club and Sycamore Hills Golf Club will host the largest women’s golf and charity tournament in the country.

Participants in golf and tennis are encouraged to dress in their best pink outfits. Prizes are awarded to the “best-dressed.”

Monday evening is the annual celebration dinner where tennis and golf players learn the results of fundraising efforts.
