One man is in critical condition after a crash at the intersection of E. Wayne Trace and S. Anthony Blvd. near the train tracks.
Police and medics were called to tthe scene around 5:15 p.m. Friday. When they arrived they found one car on its side off the railroad tracks. The driver was trapped inside. Firefighters arrived with paramedics to get the man out of the vehicle.
He was taken to the hospital in serious condition and later downgraded to critical.
Investigators say the man was driving north on S. Anthony Blvd. when he crossed the center line as he approached the railroad tracks. His car hit another vehicle driving south causing the victim’s vehicle to roll on it’s side.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol to be factors in the crash.
All trains were stopped on the railroad and S. Anthony was closed between Hayden and Wayne Trace in both directions until the scene was cleared over 2 hours later.
The crash is under investigation.
