Rescue crews are working to free someone from a cave-in in Woodburn.
Emergency personnel were called around 3 p.m. Monday to a property in a mobile home park in the 21000 block of Woodburn Road. Dispatchers told NewsChannel 15 that first responders were working to free a person who was trapped in some sort of cave-in situation in a trench on the property.
The person was pulled out from the trench just before 4 p.m. Authorities told NewsChannel 15 the victim was in good condition.
The man was fixing a broken water line when clay dirt became trapped around him, NewsChannel 15 was told. A neighbor said the victim was buried up to his chest but firefighters confirmed the man was buried to the knees.
Woodburn Fire crews along with the Fort Wayne’s Special Operations Response Team responded to free the man.
