Ouabache State Park beach closed to swimming due to blue-green algae

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) Due to high levels of a toxic chemical produced by blue-green algae, the beach at Ouabache State Park in Wells County has been closed to swimming.

According to a Facebook post, samples taken this week show high levels of saxitoxin. The chemical can be dangerous to humans.

The water will be tested again next week and the beach status will be updated then.
