A Fort Wayne Police officer found something unusual while patrolling: a cat with its head stuck in a can.
Friday morning, Officer Matt Wilson was driving in his cruiser in an alley in the 4400 block of Smith Street when he saw something in his path, according to a Fort Wayne Police Department Facebook post. It turned out to be a cat with its head stuck inside a baby formula can.
Officer Wilson contacted Jodi Baird of Animal Care and Control to help rescue the feline. They were able to free the cat successfully. The pair snapped a picture with the cat after the rescue.
Animal Care and Control said the cat was brought back to its shelter where it be spayed or neutered, microchipped, ear tipped and vaccinated. Then, officers will send it back out as a community cat.
