Funeral services were held Monday for Fort Wayne Police Department Officer David Tinsley who died in the line of duty last week.
The day started with police and Lutheran funeral services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on W. Jefferson Blvd., where Tinsley, along with his wife, was a member.
A procession around downtown and the south side of Fort Wayne followed the service. It stopped outside Allen County Courthouse for Tinsley’s final call and passed under a Garrison Flag on Main Street.
The procession arrived at Tinsley’s final resting place at Lindenwood Cemetery. That ceremony included traditions like a riderless horse, a 21 gun salute and the placing of carnations, worn throughout the day by fellow officers.
