Carroll Middle School is preparing to host hundreds or people for the NACS Community Relay for Life event next month.
NACS superintendent Chris Himsel and Relay for Life co-chair Kathy Dougald joined First News Saturday to talk more about their goals and hopes for the event
Last year was the first time for then event and they raised $60k and had more than 800 people there.
They are working with American Cancer Society. They are the recipient of the funds and 75% stays local.
The hope this year is to get more businesses involved. Both Lutheran and Parkview are sponsors, but most of the money raised comes from individual donations.
