A Bremen man was killed Saturday after crashing his motorcycle in Kosciusko County.
Police and medics were called around 1:20 p.m. Saturday to S.R. 13 near C.R. 200 North, north of Pierceton near the Barbee chain of lakes. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, a northbound motorcycle that had been traveling with a group of other motorcycles crashed there.
The sheriff’s office said for some reason, 52-year-old James R. Ernsberger of Bremen laid down his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the roadway without making contact with any other vehicles. Ernsberger was ejected from the motorcycle, and was found unresponsive, the sheriff’s office said.
Ernsberger was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he later died from his injuries. Police said Ernsberger suffered multiple head and neck injuries from the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
