FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist in critical condition Wednesday morning.
The crash happened in the 4400 block of East Washington Boulevard near Meyer Road around 10 a.m.
Police at the scene told WANE 15 a motorcycle going west on Washington Boulevard rear-ended an SUV that was stopped. The SUV then made a U-turn toward New Haven and left the scene.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Fort Wayne Police Department provided photos of the SUV involved in the crash.
Authorities could not provide a specific make or model for the SUV, but the photos show the vehicle suffered heavy rear-end damage.
Police said they found a man on the ground near the motorcycle and tended to him before medics arrived and took him to the hospital in critical condition.



There were no passengers on the motorcycle.
At the time, police confirmed westbound Washington Boulevard is closed at Meyer Road, Google Maps showed the area is back open to traffic as of 3:00 p.m.
