Missing Indianapolis man found dead in Wabash County

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - An Indianapolis man reported missing more than a month ago has been found dead in Wabash County, and police are treating the case as a homicide.

Alexis Serrano was last seen leaving his north-central Indianapolis home June 2 with an unknown male. The 20-year-old was officially listed as a missing person June 6, and he was not heard from or seen since.

Until June 28, when Indiana State Police in Peru were called by the Wabash County Sheriff Department about a decomposing body that had been found by a fisherman on Department of Natural Resources property in Wabash County. The body was identified as Serrano.

State police said in a news release Tuesday that the investigation into Serrano's death was being treated as a homicide. No information into why was released and no other details were made available.
