Candidates in the race for Fort Wayne mayor have spent thousands of dollars ahead of the primary. Finance reports filed with the Allen County Election Board show the candidates spent a combined total of nearly $600,000.
Republican candidate Tim Smith spend the most, $346,000. His challenger, councilman John Crawford spent $191,000.
The democratic race saw less money spent. Mayor Tom Henry shelled out a little over $58,000. Gina Burgess spent a little less than $2,000.
Republican David Roach didn’t spend any money, but did file a report. Democrat Tommy Schrader did not file a campaign finance report.
