A Marion man died Monday evening after crashing into a semi-truck.
Around 7:50 p.m., Marion first responders were called to a crash involving multiple vehicles near the Flying J on IN-18. That’s just west of I-69.
According to the Marion Police Department, the driver of the Penske Leasing semi-truck told officers he was driving west on IN-18 when Larry Plummer, 78, Marion, failed to yield the right of way and drove into his path.
The truck driver said he couldn’t stop and hit the passenger side of Plummer’s vehicle with the front, driver side of his truck. The impact from that initial crash pushed Plummer’s vehicle into the path of another vehicle driving east on IN-18 before coming to a stop.
Plummer died at the scene of the crash.
The truck driver was not seriously hurt, nor was the driver of the third vehicle.
