Two weeks and still no word of Kevin Nguyen.
Kevin, 25, went missing in the early hours of December 9th. His family said he was kicked out of the Brass Rail on Broadway after an altercation and that’s the last they’ve seen or heard from him.
Family, friends, and strangers have been searching for him nonstop.
On Sunday, nearly 150 volunteers and family members gathered at Lakeside Park to continue the search.
“Everybody is going in different areas of the city to see if we can possibly find Kevin or may be get some information about where Kevin may be,” said family friend and search organizer Alena Rasnick.
The family has searched the banks of the St. Joseph and St. Mary’s Rivers and also the area around the Brass Rail. On Thursday, they found his glasses, broken, in the parking lot of the bar.
“They are needed on a daily basis, so that’s kind of crucial to us, it’s a little bit alarming to us,” Rasnick said.
Kevin’s family says management at the bar told them Nguyen had entered the bar four times the night he went missing.
The Arby’s on Jefferson Blvd. gave them two videos. They show Kevin walking by the restaurant alone, one around 1:40 in the morning, the other around 2:45 a.m.
The Brass Rail has given their surveillance video to detectives.
The family is hoping and praying their efforts will bring Kevin home for Christmas.
“The holiday is not going to be the same without their son home,” Rasnick said. “I mean they have gifts at home that are from Kevin to his mother, to his sister. They have gifts to exchange with him, so this is going to be very hard for them if those gifts are still under the tree on Christmas day.”
Fort Wayne Police have said they have no strong leads and that anyone with information about Kevin’s whereabouts should call 427-1222.
Rasnick said even a small piece of information could make a difference.
“Even if it’s just the smallest tip that you may think may not be very helpful, let us know, because it may turn out to be a huge tip.”
