A man whose body was found after a house fire northeast of New Haven Sunday afternoon has been identified.
The body of 58-year-old Jeffery Wayne Rhoades of New Haven was found after a fire at a home at 14415 Rohman Road, two miles north of U.S. 24, just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
No details on the fire were available, according to the Woodburn Fire Department, which handled the incident. It’s not clear how the fire started or how severe it was.
It’s also not clear how Rhoades died.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Rhoades’ cause and manner of death was pending further investigation.
The fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
