Lowe’s plans to hire 100 workers to boost staff at its Fort Wayne locations, the home improvement store chain announced Tuesday.
Lowe’s will hire for part-time and seasonal positions during a job fair at all Fort Wayne stores on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. During the job fair, applications will be accepted for seasonal positions, which typically support stores between March and September, that includes cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers, loaders and assemblers of outdoor products.
Nationwide, Lowe’s is hiring 50,000 seasonal workers.
Lowe’s offers seasonal employees competitive pay, a 10 percent employee discount and flexible hours, including 17-day advanced scheduling and the ability to swap shifts as needed, the the home improvement store chain said.
Seasonal employees have the opportunity to become permanent employees. Lowe’s said nearly 40 percent of its seasonal employees last year transitioned into permanent part-time and full-time positions. Some 200 current store managers also started as seasonal employees.
