FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Jefferson Pointe shopping center lit its Christmas tree for the holiday season during an event Saturday night that featured a fly-over by Santa himself.
The tree in Jefferson Pointe's center court, the tallest in Fort Wayne, was lit at 7 p.m. Saturday during a free, family friendly ceremony. At 6:45 p.m. Lutheran Air will flew Santa over the shopping center and the crowd.
The event drew hundreds.
“Fort Wayne has embraced the tree lighting event as a family tradition and we see the community come together to celebrate for our biggest attendance all year," said Katrina Walburn with Jefferson Pointe.
The Jefferson Pointe Christmas tree is synchronized to music and its lights will dance nightly to music every half hour between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
