DALEVILLE, Ind.(WANE) - A crash on I-69 involving two men from Fort Wayne leaves one of them in serious condition.
Just after 8 p.m. Saturday, Indiana State Police responded to the report of a crash on I-69 around mile marker 234 near the Daleville exit in Delaware County.
Police say 20-year-old Lazarus McAtee of Fort Wayne was driving a 2001 GMC Sonoma pickup in the southbound lanes of I-69 when he crossed into oncoming traffic after becoming distracted by adjusting his radio.
The truck hit a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the northbound lanes. The driver of the motorcycle was 36-year-old Mark Pranger of Fort Wayne. He was airlifted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis in serious condition. McAtee was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
McAtee was cited for driving with a suspended license. The crash blocked I-69 northbound for three hours while troopers investigated the crash and worked to clear the scene.
