Several hundred people received free turkeys at the Franciscan Center’s annual Turkey Tuesday event.
The ministry said it had hoped to provide more than 1,500 turkeys during Tuesday’s event. The first person arrived at the Franciscan Center’s food pantry at Gaywood Drive and Maple Grove Avenue for a turkey at 5 a.m., four hours before distribution began. Hundreds lined up behind her.
The turkeys were donated by the community.
