Weisser Park tennis courts body found

A man found dead at the tennis courts in Weisser Park in late June died of a blow to the head, the Allen County coroner has ruled.

Randy Ray Singleton, 52, was found just before 6:30 a.m. July 28, down on the tennis courts at Weisser Park at 3201 S. Hanna Street. A Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department employee found Singleton on the ground and called 911, police said.

At the time, police said detectives found “no obvious signs of a criminal act,” but the cause and manner of Singleton’s death was not released.

Friday, then, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said Singleton died of blunt force trauma to the head and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police have not released any information on a possible suspect in the case.
