Winds near 50 mph caused a tree to break in half and block lanes along Reed Road Thursday evening.

Fort Wayne Police were called to traffic hazard around 7:20 p.m. just north of the Reed Rd. and Lake Ave. intersection.

The tree caused the southbound lanes of Reed to close for over an hour while officials wait for crews to get it cleaned up. Police estimate the lanes to be back open around 9:00 p.m. at the earliest.
