WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) — Vendors offered handmade items and homegrown goods at the first-ever Handmade and Homegrown Barn Market in Woodburn Sunday.
The market was held at Ruby’s Little Red Barn on Slusher Road, an event venue that has been hosting weekend-long markets all month. The barn’s owner says they were looking to fill a gap in the Woodburn area.
“We used to have a Woodburn Market. See it was in town, but this year, we really didn’t have anything like that going on and so it was kind of a pleasure for me to host that for Woodburn,” said Jessica Erpelding, owner of Ruby’s Little Red Barn. “You support local, and also you support lots of small businesses, people that don’t really have a business yet, but want to one day.”
The Handmade and Homegrown Market will return for the upcoming weekend on August 28 and August 29 from 1-6 p.m., it’s the last weekend of the year. Although, Erpelding said she hopes to bring it back next year, possibly for more weeks.
