Government shutdown changes distribution of SNAP benefits

Local News

The distribution of February SNAP benefits has been changed as a result of the partial federal government shutdown.

The people at the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration encouraged those who receive SNAP benefits to budget properly to make sure food lasts through the month of February.

According to the Indiana FSSA, no benefits will be distributed during February. All benefits will be distributed on Wednesday, January 16. That plan was put in by the USDA as a mechanism to work as a result of the shutdown.
