Going over the edge for GiGi’s Playhouse

Local News

They’re going Over the Edge! Friday Fort Wayne’s first-ever rappelling fundraiser kicks off, but NewsChannel 15 got a sneak peak.

NewsChannel 15’s Sierra Tufts and Alyssa Ivanson rappelled off the side of the Lamplight Inn.

That’s fourteen stories high.

Over the Edge benefits GiGi’s playhouse, a nonprofit providing free services to individuals with down syndrome.

“So every rappeller needs to raise a minimum of $1,000, and all of the proceeds go right back into our playhouse, here in Fort Wayne, our local population.  And once you raise $1,000, you can continue raising those funds, but that secures your spot here, to rappel,” says Holly Tonak, executive director of GiGi’s Playhouse.

Over the Edge starts at 9 tomorrow, goes until 5. You can click here for more information.

So far, they’ve raised nearly $50,000 dollars.
