“Go Red for Women” is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. It’s also the focus of an upcoming luncheon here locally.
The Go Red for Women Luncheon is February 6th. There you can learn how to keep yourself healthy and avoid heart disease. The theme of the luncheon this year is “Don’t Gamble with your Numbers.”
February is American Heart Month and Feb. 1 is Wear Red Day. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and in Indiana, 1 in 3 deaths are from some form of cardiovascular disease.
More women die from heart disease every year than men and 1 woman dies from CVD every 80 seconds.
The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation.
