A Fort Wayne Community Schools teacher has come under national scrutiny.

A family has accused a Blackhawk Middle School teacher of bullying their son for using Fox News as a source for an assignment. The family told the News-Sentinel that a Spanish teacher reprimanded the student for using what she called a “fake news source.”

The family reported the allegation to the school, and the teacher reportedly apologized the next day in class.

The district released the following statement:

“Fort Wayne Community Schools does not condone the kind of behavior detailed by this parent. When we were notified, we immediately investigated and took appropriate action. Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot provide details of the outcome of the investigation.”

Todd and Jacob Hein even appeared on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning to tell their story. Todd Hein told our media partners at the News-Sentinel.com the assignment was to translate an article from English to Spanish. The News-Sentinel.com reported Jacob chose an article about U.S. Air Force pilots reportedly spotting UFOs The article came from Fox News.

The teacher told Jacob that Fox was “fake” news, and gave him an extra assignment. Hein told the News-Sentinel.com that extra assignment was for Jacob to look up the many lies President Trump has told.
