FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Gamers from across the Midwest will be in Fort Wayne this weekend for FortCON 2018.
The players at the Grand Wayne Center will battle in eSports tournaments, Super Smash Brothers tournaments, board games, retro video games and more.
Spectators can demoing an HTC Vive virtual reality setup and shop local vendors, too.
FortCON 2018 is presented by FortLAN.
FortLAN’s objective is to bring together a community of gamers from across the region to play games of all types and to have fun in a social setting.
The group also hopes to raise funds to purchase a GO-Kart (Gamers Outreach Kart), described in a press release as a "portable, medical-grade video game kiosk that enables hospital staff to easily provide bedside recreation to children who are unable to leave their rooms in hospitals."
The public is invited stop by and check out the event, play VR games, old school console games, retro arcade games, and more.
Hours are Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
