Fort Wayne’s water is the best in the state, according to judges at a taste competition.
The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water on Wednesday selected Fort Wayne as the winner of the ‘Best Tasting Water in Indiana.’ The city’s water had been entered in the competition because it had won a regional taste competition earlier in the year.
“We are pleased to receive this recognition, and we thank the men and women of our Three Rivers Water Filtration Plant for their dedication to producing clean, high quality, good tasting water for our customers every day of the year,” said Kumar Menon, Director of Fort Wayne City Utilities.
Entries were scored in three categories: clarity, odor, and taste. Judges called Fort Wayne’s water as clean, pure and refreshing.
Taste-test judge from the water and wastewater company USABlueBook said of Fort Wayne’s water: “I really liked the flavor of it. It was crisp and clean.”
Fort Wayne City Utilities’ water will now be entered into the Great American Water Taste Test national competition in Washington D.C. in February 2019.
