Fort Wayne Police Dept. announce new K9 in training

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is training a new furry officer.

In a post on Facebook, the department said a future K9 officer named Scout is beginning his training with handler Officer Matt Harmeyer.

The German Shorthaired Pointer will be trained in narcotics detection over the next few months until he is officially sworn in.
