FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting south of downtown Fort Wayne that left a woman with life-threatening injuries. The shooting happened around 2:15 on Monday morning.

Police responded to the 400 block of Lexington Avenue. That’s just east of Fairfield Avenue and near Harrison Hill Elementary School.

According to FWPD, a woman suffered life-threatening injuries from an apparent gunshot wound. Their preliminary investigation indicates she was shot through the front door of a home.

No arrests have been made at this point. The incident remains under investigation by FWPD.
