A Fort Wayne Police officer was slightly hurt in a crash with another vehicle Monday afternoon.
Authorities were called just before 1 p.m. to the intersection of Lake Avenue and Coliseum Boulevard on a report of a crash. There, a Fort Wayne Police squad car and a Chevrolet Impala had collided.
Police said a K9 officer was responding to a call when the officer was hit by a passenger car as he entered the intersection of Lake and Coliseum. It’s not clear which vehicle had the right-of-way or whether the officer’s lights and sirens were activated.
The officer received minor injuries, police said. The K9 was not hurt.
The other driver also did not suffer injuries.
