A Fort Wayne business is continuing its partnership with the University of Saint Francis. Fort Wayne Metals will be involved in the university’s updated science facility after making a recent major financial contribution.
Achatz Hall of Science and Research Center underwent a 25,700 square foot expansion on top of a 46,000 square foot renovation. It will have more classrooms, laboratories and conference rooms.
Inside the science building, Fort Wayne Metals will operate a working laboratory. USF students will be eligible to be part of company internships to develop professional experience and valuable work skills.
“We are very happy to be able to strengthen our relationship with the University of Saint Francis,” said Fort Wayne Metals Chairman and CEO Scott Glaze. “The laboratory at Achatz Hall will help enhance our ability to evaluate the properties of our implant materials.”
The finishing touches on Achatz Hall, as well as the construction of the new St. Francis Chapel, are expected to be done by the end of 2019.
