Fort Wayne facility opens axe throwing courts

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - If throwing an axe is something you've always wanted to do, there's a place in Fort Wayne that will teach you how.

Combat Ops Arena, a local entertainment center, is now offering battlehawk axe throwing. They have two axe-throwing courts inside an enclosure similar to a batting cage.

An axe-master will give you step-by-step safety and axe throwing instructions.

The idea is to throw your axe into a target that's 12-15 feet away.

"It's a trend that's really growing across the country," said David Dimberio, Chief Entertainment Officer at Combat Ops Arena. "If you look like any major city like Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit - they have multiple axe throwing bars. And so we decided to go ahead and add it here. We just thought it was a unique venue to add something that Fort Wayne doesn't have already."

Axe throwing is for people 12-years-old and up.

Combat Ops Arena is located at 702 Ley Road, off Lima Road.
