Fort Wayne churches, YMCA teaming up to help victims of Hurricane Michael

Five Fort Wayne churches and the YMCA are teaming up to help those in need in Florida. The organizations want to to supply victims of Hurricane Michael with basic needs.

They are asking for nonperishable food items, water, 18-gallon plastic totes, diapers and feminine products.

This comes weeks after hurricane rolled through Florida and Georgia devastating the area.

It is the fourth most powerful storm on record to hit the United States.

More than a dozen people have been killed, at least 60 have been rescued, hundreds are still in need of assistance, and thousands are without power.

Donation drop off locations include:

  • Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815
  • Brookside Church, 6102 Evard Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46835
  • Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 W Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46814
  • New Covenant Community Church, 3420 E Paulding Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46816
  • The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road SouthFort Wayne, IN 46814
  • All greater Fort Wayne Y’s

Donations can be dropped off on or before Wednesday, October 24.
